Anchovy Crostini

Ingredients

1 tin flat anchovies in oil

4-5 cloves sliced garlic

3 red birds eye peppers sliced

1/4 high quality olive oil

1 fresh baguette, slice diagonally

Manchego or Asiago, sliced

Directions

  1. Drain anchovy tin

  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan. Cast iron preferred

  3. Add in garlic, chilis, and anchovies 

  4. Mash anchovies a bit with a wooden spoon

  5. Saute mixture

  6. Slice baguette, heat oven to 350 (optional to brush the bread with olive oil, bake until crispy)

  7. Once the mixture is fragrant, remove from heat, let cool a bit

  8. Brush mixture onto baguette slices 

  9. Top with sliced cheese

  10. Optional: add zest of lemon
