Ahi Tuna Steaks With Sautéed Vegetables

Ingredients:

2 Ahi tuna steaks

3-4 tbs soy sauce

1 tbs toasted sesame oil

1 zucchini

1 squash

1/2 yellow onion

Salt and pepper

1 tbs vegetable or grape-seed oil

Directions

  1. Combine sesame oil and soy sauce in a bowl and add ahi steaks. Marinate for 10-20 minutes

  2. Meanwhile, prepare vegetables. Slice zucchini, squash, and onion 3/4-1/2 thick

  3. Add to a large pan and sauté at medium-high heat. Season with salt and pepper and cook until vegetables are tender but not too soft. When the vegetables are just about done, prepare another pan for the ahi steaks

  4. Heat pan with 1 tbsp of vegetable or grapeseed oil at medium-high heat. Once hot, remove the steaks from the marinade and add them to the skillet

  5. Cook until seared on the underside, about 2 minutes. Flip the tuna and sear the other side for about 2 minutes more for medium-rare. Remove from pan and let rest for a few minutes

  6. Using a sharp knife, cut the steaks across the grain into strips about ½- inch thick

  7. Plate the steaks and veggies. Serve with the spicy mayo found in the Spicy Chicken Burgers recipe
